Thursday 13 - #12!

Yeah, it is officially the first day of Summer! What does this mean to me?

1. Sun!
2. Sand!
3. Surf!
4. Sunscreen!
5. watermelon
6. bikinis
7. fruity cocktails like Lapu Lapus
8. sunglasses
9. shorts, t-shirts and thongs
10. umbrella
11. bbq's
12. tan lines - blech!
13. BOOKS!

There are others like Beach Boys, Gidget, the smell of zinc oxide [childhood memory, sunscreen has moved on], bonfires, oh and roasting marshmallows. Actually they are all obvious for me, but what about you? What says summer to you?

For me it means wine, swimming, and gardening. I just wish it would stop raining here so I could start to enjoy it. :(

Lying in the hammock reading books. Family reunions. Fried chicken and grilled burgers at every outing. Taking the kids to the pool. Drinking beer on the deck after hubby gets home from work.

Great list :)

I look forward to reading in the summer too - especially the Harry Potter 7th book (I am a HUGE fan) - I have info and photos of the big Harry Potter party we had last month up on my blog to prove it hehehe.

Believe it or not, It had totally slipped my mind that today was the first day of summer, until I read your TT! Deadlines will do that. LOL

Summer to me is watermelon, corn-on-the-cob, fresh cherries and lots of ice cream! :-D

What says summer to me? Watching the night darken from the deck, a cold beer in hand. (notice that the beer doesn't get consumed, lest it put me to sleep when it interacts with the allergy medicine I'm on. Drat.)

And my clematis. The thing must be on steroids!

Happy TT, my friend!

Since I live in a tropical island, I get "summer" all year long. :)

I love summer and I live in New England so we don't get much of it.

Enjoy your summer days, your books, watermelon and everything else.

Summer here in Florida means finding ways to beat the opressive heat.

I presume the other 3 seasons include books too?

Have a good summer :-)

Blessed warmth! I finally thaw from the bones out. No more popsicle feet and hands for at least 5 months - wahoo!

well, you know there are ways to avoid tan lines.

amazingly, i really cant come up with a summer sports reference, but sometimes i do love the feel of heat and humidity.
