I have a problem with using public restrooms...and it was there long before I saw Trainspotting! However, I have been in a few that were interesting to say the least. Had to pay for toilet paper in Lisbon - men and women in the same facility [yes, I was desperate!] and one in India where a lady offered to help [NO, thank you!]. On the other hand there's the one in Osmotherly that formally and proudly notes the Queen visited there, the gorgeous art nuveau restroom upstairs at Angelina's, oh, and one that made it into 'Taming Marie Antoinette' but I'll save that for another day. Anyway, I got to thinking, are there any interesting restrooms out there? Someplace you won't mind going into? Well, as you can imagine, I thought not, so eventually I narrowed this search down to urinals...unique urinals and 2 restrooms [see, women really don't have good options].

Want to be measured, photographed or oogled, while you go? Then this is the place for you.
Here you pick your station by your, um, size...but what if you don't know the metric system?
Want some help finishing, then the Shakutron is for you.
Hmm, rather beautiful and irreverant in Spain.
Floating around on the International Space Station? Here's your facilities. All I can say is, if a man can't make it into a traditional loo on earth, how is he supposed to make it in this tiny cup while moving on average 17239.2 miles an hour through space?
Pick your horse by the stall, or your urinal by your horse, at a loo in Alberta Canada.
Smile, you're on candid camera!

Well, how to freak out a tourist, point them to a randomly appearing public restroom.
Best view of Hong Kong is from the men's room at The Felix.
At least you won't miss your flight from this restroom in Stockhold Arlanda Airport in Stockholm.
Okay, the freakiest is last...a glass box in the middle of a pedestrian thoroghfare. Step in and go! Would you truly believe no one could see in while you can see out so perfectly?

Some of those are wayyyyy out there. I've seen that glass one written up somewhere. Very freaky.
Happy TT, and thanks for stopping by my blog.
Those are great!
We both have potties on the brain this week! (well, okay, I don't but Trevor does -- a point brought up by The Tour Manager, who remembered a crack made by a friend of ours who tours with one certain band)
ALL of those are wild. Some are just too bizarre to be believed.
How many are going to make it into your fiction? Is anyone going to have sex in the mirrored one? *grin*
Happy TT!
I have seen most of those. I get some strange email..lol
The glass one has always struck me as
the strangest by far.
Terrific Thursday Thirteen!
My TT is posted.
Have a wonderful day!
Happy TT'ing!

Cute list. I have the same problem with public bathrooms. Can't use the things unless I really have to go. :)
Those are very cool. So why don't we women have cool toilets like that?
The worst toilets when we've been traveling have been those squatting things--they look like foot rests in a shower stall. I can never figure out how to use them without completely undressing.
And yeah, paying for toilet paper is bad--I always make sure I have tissues in my purse. :)
Great list!
Public restrooms *shudders*
Happy TT!
Oh, I have a real fear of urinals. Must go way back...
OMG I hate to use public rest rooms, but some of those where interesting to say the least. No way i could go in that glass box one and the one that comes out of the ground would scare the crap out of me. No Way I could use it.
Very Cool List.
Those are very cool, but I don't think there is any way I could use that last one. *shudder*
The glass box one would definitely freak me out! LOL!
The last one would be safe; it's the stainless steel one in Amsterdam that has me perplexed? Is it not an art installation - and is that art a person who uses it?
Love the flower urinals - very beautiful.
Thanks for visiting my TT.
This cracked me up. Thanks for the amusing visuals first thing in the morning! :)
I'm not sure I could sit on a flower toilet, lol. And the last one would probably be too much. Though, it'd be funny to stand outside it and stare like you could see whoever was in, motioning to other people and pointing. Ok, mean but kind of funny.
Funny t13!

I hate public restrooms as well...A LOT. But I love those pics! Theres one-is it in japan? Made of solid gold. Great list :}
The glass box one completely freaks me out.
Apparently, the public loos in the Netherlands are policed to ensure you pay up and don't sneak in. They hubby was explaining it after his trip to Amsterdam.
In Manila there a pink loos outside for men to use.
What an amazing list. Thanks for sharing.
Sorry, as cool as those are - I couldn't do it. Would I go into the see through one? Heck yeah!! Would I use it? No way.
This was hysterical!
My mom went to Vietnam a few years ago and their facities on a train? A hole in the floor with a rail to hold onto. Heh... no thank you!
Happy TT!
I hate public restrooms too! BUT i'm thinking if they were this cool - I may venture more often.
Very interesting !!
Love the one's from Spain....well, as much as you can love a urinal. haha
Hehehe these are funny (but I freaked out at the same time). I've always hated public restrooms - I think I would pee my pants before I tried that glass box one!
Happy TT and thanks for stopping my mine! =)
I remember reading about the last one when it was being built. It cracked me up then, and still cracks me up.
Great list!
Great TT List Tilly,
Though I have to shake my head at some of those and say, thank god women don't use urinals and that we have to sit down! And the lips one...yuk!

Love the pic's!!! And in answer to your question, Bambi's mom would fall under the category of mothers that were killed off. I wonder what Disney has against Mothers?
OMG you crack me up with some of these photos. Public bathroom...yike! I'm even afraid to use it.
Happy T 13! Have a good day!
The most disconcerting public toilet I ever used included spoken instructions on how to use the facilities in several languages and an internationalised male and female sign on the doors in that no one understood.
This was an AWESOME post! Happy TT!
That last one is great! :)
I think it would be fun to stand outside the last one and make gasping faces after someone goes in. You can't see them - but they won't be so sure.
Very interesting! There were several I had never seen before.
This must be the best TT ever!
Some of those are so nice, it seems a shame to actually use them!
