eBook Talk!

Even though I've had little to no time for pleasure reading, I still had to add some ebooks to my TBR stack because they sounded so good.  So, waiting to be read on my virtual stack [thank goodness the cutie can't see this is in addition to the one in the study], are:

Jet Mykles' Dark Elves Series is a long time favorite of mine and didn't have these two:

Selena Illyria's Vampiropolis series is one I'd read the first two, but missed the next two, and so it suited me to get the entire set under one cover.  Then, whilst attending an Illyria's chat, she hooked me onto Chocolate Bliss [multi-author Sex and Chocolate series] - full disclosure:  Selena and I are huge hot chocolate fans and often share our finds :-)

And last but not least, these are the All Romance 28 Days of Heart ebooks - even though February/Mind Your Heart Health month is over, these ebooks are all still available - I hadn't downloaded to add to my stack:
There you go.  Overall, a broad selection to be read, and I'm looking forward to devouring each and every one.

Movie Night Idea

An old flick has been on my mind lately and thought I'd pass it on as a recommendation for your Friday Movie Night.  So, get the popcorn ready, and pop in:

Legend, with Tim Curry as the Lord of Darkness, Tom Cruise as the hero, and Mia Sara as the heroine.  It was directed by Ridley Scott and nominated for an Oscar - Best Makeup.  I never knew that!

It's funny fun.  Maybe even a bit campy, but still, I always remember this flick when I think of Tim Curry.

How often to I do that?

Often!

He's the voice of the Lemony Snicket series called "Series of Unfortunate Events", and is fabulous!  Beyond fabulous and I say that because the author, who is a little odd, took over the audio for books 3-5 and they weren't half as good as Curry's.

There's also the fact he was in the flick that scared me crapless and still does.  Tim Curry was Pennywise in It, the film adaptation of Stephen King's book by the same name.  Scary stuff!

Oddly enough, Curry is also in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and plays Dr. Frank N. Furter - "sweet transvestite from Transsexual, Transylvania" ("Sweet Transvestite").  As a kid, I snuck out one night to catch it, and Barbarella was playing before it.

Oooo, I was such a rebel!  Sneaking out of the house and into the theater, such a bad girl, but it was a blast!

Anyway, seek out Legend, and enjoy Tim Curry as the Lord of Darkness!

Can he really be sexy?

Fact:  I don't use real people to help build my characters.

There are problems that come along with doing that, like everyone has their own opinions of who a person is, and often can't open up to other possibilities.  Thankfully, I have an expansive imagination, and happily rely on it to create the people who populate my work.  That is one of the perks of being a writer - allowing the creative juices to freely flow.

So, when it came time to develop Lucifer, despite his having a well known reputation, it actually came very easily.

Physically and personality-wise, he has little incommon with the Devil who everyone believes they know.  But wait a second, so there is no misunderstanding, my hero is the real Satan, but for me, he is much more than the job of recruiting people to reside in his abode - Hell.  That said, what does the ultimate bad boy actually look like?

"Without any warning, the chair started to slowly swivel around. Nia held her breath, tense to see what the man looked like. As he moved into the firelight, she was faced with the most handsome man she’d ever encountered. Her imagination won the war. The pulsating rhythm in her pussy sped up and matched her heartbeat. The tandem beating held her undivided attention and she couldn’t find the willpower to look away.

Dang, she was in even deeper trouble than she’d thought.

The man had a commanding presence and oozed power, a very seductive combination. His mink brown hair was cropped close and dark brown eyes instantly pulled Nia in and entranced her. His chin was strong and his nose was slightly crooked. Lovely. In the low flickering light, it looked like he wore a traditional white dress shirt and sedate tie with a classic dark suit. The man sitting on the other side of the desk was obviously a professional of some sort, a higher up on the corporate ladder, and with a voice that touched her in a very sexual way.

If there was a type of guy she was attracted to, then he was it. A businessman who used his mind and not brawn to get what he wanted."
Copyright © 2010 Tilly Greene

Well?  Are businessmen sexy?  Of course!  All that power, confidence, and self assurance is yummy.  Okay, what about a Lucifer - would he be sexy in a suit and tie?  I think so.  The bad boy who uses his brain is pretty hot, especially when he's stripped and getting creative in the bedroom.

Did you notice from the cover Kendra Egbert created that he isn't hiding who he truly is? The horns and tail are there, but Lucifer is showing the man he truly wants to be for Nia - her lover and hero.

Zeus is...

the King of Gods, ruler of Mount Olympus, the god of sky and thunder* [wait until you read Cyra's Cyclopes].  Zeus is a powerful man in touch with his sexual needs.

Yes, sex, and let's remember, that is not a dirty word.  I'm going to give you a truth some may find hard to accept:  he had loads of sex and not always with his wife.  Some interludes were had with permission and some without.  Some as a man and some not.  Most with women, but not always.  In fact, the list of his partners, willing or not, is very long, and is a part of his character.  Let's be clear, Zeus did not make a couple of errors of judgement on his way to or even as the Olympian leader.  He was a habitual philanderer.

And that doesn't bother me.

I embrace all aspects of this mythology megastar, both good and bad.  In fact, the premise behind my Mythological Messes Redux series is to address a few of the myths that disturbed me.  As an example of this, in Together Again? and continues in Double Punch, Zeus is given an opportunity to make amends for how he treat Leda - the woman he took as a swan and impregnated her with Helen and Polydeuces (Pollux) at the same time she was already pregnant with Clytemnestra and Castor.

So, let's remember, no one was perfect in Classical Greek mythology, not even Zeus.

Enough said.

A personal note about...

A couple of years ago, here on my blog, I wrote about my families connection to Ireland in a Book Talk entry. Being that it's St. Patrick's Day, I thought I'd share another incident that happened on the same journey.

Let me state that I was young, 17, making my first trip abroad and alone. Mistakes were made but I loved it so much, I went back again a few years later with my Mom. In size, this is a small country and yet its heart is huge.

Anyway, that first trip was short and sweet with the intension to see and experience as much as possible in my break after mid-terms. My grandma was with us then and she talked up checking out the place her father and uncle were born - the last Irish decendents in our family. There's no way I'd say no to Grammy, so I had a mission: visit County Carlow.

What? You haven't heard of it? Not to worry, it isn't one of the big ones although it was simply beautiful. No one knew the exact name of the village and wanting to making my grandma happy, I went to the only place she frequently mention and that I could catch a train from Dublin to and that was Carlow Town.

Haven't heard of it either? Not to worry, it was a lovely town. I remember walking over a bridge and enjoying the various shops and crowds of people out and about. There was a beautiful old building on the edge of town with a stunning orchard leading up to it. I took pictures, ready to pass them on to my grandma and show her the wonderful place she came from. I made my way to the side and there was a sign declaring what it was: a mental institution.

My family still has a good laugh over this discovery.

Next time someone tells you they're off to trace their roots, have a smile for them and wish them luck. Who knows what they'll find out.

Happy St. Patrick's Day All!

Call Me Lucifer is OUT!

While daydreaming, I wondered if Lucifer, Satan, the Devil, whatever you call him, I wondered if he could be a hero - a romantic hero with honest love and respect for a woman.  I didn't want it to be a man called Lucifer or a devil of a character who finds love, I wanted to rework the actual evil incarnate into a dreamboat.  A dreamboat who isn't a neutered version, but one retains some naughtiness that he embraced for an eternity.

It was a blast to flesh out someone with the worst reputation known to exist.  So, was I successful in the challenge I set out to fulfill?  I think so, but now you can judge for yourself.

Call Me Lucifer by Tilly Greene
Paranormal Erotic Romance/Bondage and D/s
Available through Whiskey Creek Press Torrid

He is much more than the horrific job title and now he needs to prove it to her!

Lucifer, the Prince of Darkness, works hard dishing out punishments and asks for little in return, until now. He's been waiting an eternity for a woman who would bring out his gentle side, his need to love and be loved in return. He’d started to wonder if she even existed but at last he’s found her, in a courtroom arguing for a tougher sentence.

After his first introduction to Nia Adams, a sexy petite firebrand, he spends all his time on the surface at her side. They have a serious relationship and he’s sure the emotion bouncing between them is love. Then she lies to him about how she feels.

While difficult to hear, the lie opens a door. It gives him the only chance he’ll ever have to show her who the man behind the horrific job title really is. And he takes it with both hands.

Friday Funny!

Why not to marry a Yorkshire lass - from a female friend of mine, thank you L for the laugh!

The first man married a woman from Dorset. Told her that she was to do the dishes and house cleaning.. It took a couple of days, but on the third day, he came home to see a clean house and dishes washed and put away.

The second man married a woman from Derbyshire He gave his wife orders that she was to do all the cleaning, dishes and the cooking. The first day he didn't see any results, but the next day he saw it was better. By the third day, he saw his house was clean, the dishes were done and there was a huge dinner on the table.

The third man married a girl from Yorkshire, He ordered her to keep the house clean, dishes washed, lawn mowed, laundry washed, and hot meals on the table for every meal. He said the first day he didn't see anything, the second day he didn't see anything but by the third day, some of the swelling had gone down. And he could see a little out of his left eye, and his arm was healed enough that he could fix himself a sandwich and load the dishwasher. He still has some difficulty when he pees.

Enjoy your return jolly ol' and we'll see you soon!

Want an Introduction to the Mythological Messes Redux series?

Mistakes aren't bad, they are often something that can be learned from, but what if they are really bad? Cruel. Whatever the original intentions may have been, it's time to set things right, no matter how difficult it is to make things right for everyone involved - mortal or immortal, they're all equal.

Today "Hephaestus Lays Down the Law" is free from All Romance and is the first book in the series, although they don't need to be read in order.  Here is a little snippet to tempt your Ancient Greek senses:

“She is my mate.”

“…my mate.”

Simultaneously, the two men looked at the other with confidence, and spoke from their hearts. Unfortunately, they had come to the same conclusion, and vocalized the same claim. Both Pollux and Castor claimed her as their mate, their other half, their one love, and that couldn’t be right.

It should’ve been a special moment, one they’d looked forward to experiencing, but it wasn’t as grand as it should be. They couldn’t claim the same mate, it wasn’t possible. They could share a woman they wanted, give and receive pleasure and fulfillment, they’d done it plenty of times. However, Castor didn’t think such a lady could possibly complete them both. Not both their hearts and souls, it would take a very special woman to be able to do that. They were twins who weren’t really twins, they were individuals.

For a second, he thought about the history of his homeland, and was coming up blank. Mount Olympus had never had a truly mated trio. There’d been plenty of gods, goddesses, immortals and mortals who explored multiple partners, but as far as he knew, there was only one true love, one mate, for each person. Despite history working against them, a solution to their particular situation needed to be found, and fast. Then it came to him, there was only one option open to them, at least as far as he was concerned.

“I think I know the only solution to our problem. We’ve been attracted to the same women before. Of course, never a mate and never with a timeline, but I think we can move forward from here. Why don’t we let Anissa decide the matter and we’ll both abide by her decision.” Castor quietly and emphatically voiced what he believed to be the best route forward and, knowing his brother, understood he would as well. Privately, he vowed to give up his chance at experiencing the once in a lifetime love for his brother. Letting him have the joy he missed by giving up his immortality to save him, even if for a limited amount of time, it was the best he could offer to make amends for his past mistakes that cost him everything.

“Fine.” Pollux’s agreement was terse. Looking carefully at the other man sitting across the table from him, Castor saw how he didn’t look to be completely satisfied, and that was something for him to worry about. He knew his brother and the man wouldn’t rest until he found what he thought was the best solution.

Fidgeting didn’t help ease the tension between his legs. He drank some of the water he’d requested with the last visit from their waiter and it didn’t help either. Out of the corner of his eye, Castor noticed his brother was in much the same discomfort as he was, and finally confessed what he believed they both were thinking. “She is so beautiful, smart, funny, and definitely adventurous. Anissa George is everything I had hoped my mate would be and so much more.”

“I’ve been hard since she walked into the meeting room. She speaks and my cock throbs like it’s never felt a woman’s wet clinging cunt before.” Pollux whispered, as if anything too loud would break his tenuous control on his passion.

“When she laughs my dick stretches further for her attention. I fear I’ll shame us and come without so much as a touch from her sweet hand, much less the clinch of her pussy.” Castor knew the awe he heard in his voice was etched on his face. Already, without even a touch, she made him feel so much than he had ever felt before, and it sounded like his brother was experiencing the same things.

“Maybe we should stop tag teaming her.” Pollux spoke up with concern. “When she returns, ask her out on a proper date. Anissa should be treated like a goddess, wooed, coddled. After you’ve had your date, then I’ll go out with her. Once she’s had a chance to get to know us as individuals, we’ll then ask her to decide which of us she would like to spend more time with.” Pollux looked to be on edge and kept glancing back to where their date had disappeared.

Castor almost laughed out loud, what stopped him was the essence of what his brother was doing which tugged on his heart. Pollux always had a plan, for everything, and, as was his habit, he was putting him first. Probably, as the eldest, he was used to being in control, but he was an adult. He could make plans and take responsibility for the outcome.

There was something else that could wreck both their plans. It was possible that she wasn’t attracted to either one of them. Castor was sure that, while they liked everything about her and wanted to get closer, the feelings may not be reciprocated. Of course, that was a brief thought, there and gone in a flash, because their desire was always returned.

“Yes, you’re right, Pollux, but I think we need to tell her what’s going on while we’re all together. I don’t want her confused, possibly thinking what we’re offering is a game or concerned one of us will be jealous of the other.”

Pollux nodded an agreement and they both relaxed, a very small bit, and lost themselves for a few moments in their own thoughts. Castor knew the next two weeks weren’t going to be easy. Even if she agreed to go out with them and wanted to get to know one of them better, he wondered if it would be any easier to have a small taste of happiness or would having none at all be less difficult to handle. After a few minutes, his brother voiced the questions that had started to concern him as well. “Did we scare her away?”

“I don’t know, although women do seem to take forever when they go to the bathroom.” Unsure of where they stood with Anissa suddenly made Castor feel edgier than usual. “Should we go make sure she’s all right?”

“No, I see her. She’s coming back to us now.” Pollux’s relief was apparent and he felt some anxiety ease and sensual tension build further.

When she arrived at the table, both men stood and Castor deferred to his brother in assisting her with the chair. Once they were all settled, he looked to Pollux to take the lead and start the important conversation they needed to have with the woman sitting between them.

“Anissa, please know that no matter what you decide within the next few minutes, your professional services are very important to Double Punch. We hope you won’t leave, but what we’d like to discuss with you, we believe, is that important to us both.” The elder twin began with a sense of calm Castor was sure he wasn’t feeling.

Received a couple of covers...

and they are gorgeous!

There are people with reputations for being really good or very bad, but this doesn't make them true or mean they don't want to feel appreciated and cherished. Everyone has a particular job to do. The Devil must punish those who make mistakes, an angel is there to guard someone from harm, but they can't interfere. They work hard to fulfill what is required of them. However, when everything that must be done is finished, they don't need to be shunned or put on a pedestal, they need to be wanted, loved.

There is someone out there for everyone, good or bad, and kinky makes it more interesting.

Paranormal Erotic Romance series with Bondage and D/s

I am so ready for the Good, Bad, and Kinky duet to come out!  Kudos and thanks to Kendra.
