Having Patience by Debra Glass
Buy eBook from Ellora's Cave
Erotic Historical Romance

Throughout their long engagement, James Camplyon, Earl of Somerset, has fantasized about Patience Hadley Mims’ silken skin and voluptuous curves. He expects his witty, beautiful bride to be timid on their wedding night. But Patience is far more than shy. She’s terrified.

James presents his reluctant bride with a box of risqué novels, ordering her to choose a passage each night for them to act out. Despite her fears, Patience thinks being bound and blindfolded will undo the hard‑learned lessons of a lifetime. But she doesn’t count on her husband’s patient resolve to strip away the dark secrets threatening to prevent her from giving herself to him completely.

My, my. Acting out passages from risque novels. What a novel idea, no pun intended. It sounds deliciously (borrowing from Nancy's D mode) wicked.

I just discovered your blog, Debra, and am hooked! As I said, I adore erotic historicals and yours sound uber sexy. I can't wait to start reading them!

What made you decide to do historicals? I love history, personally, but have noticed that so many erotica romances are contemporary.

Oh wow!! 42 comments. Thanks!!

I'll answer a couple of questions before I put all names in a bowl to pick the winner for the free download.

Why do I write historicals? I majored in history at the University of North Alabama and have always loved history. Although I have written a few paranormals and contemporaries, my writing voice definitely lends itself to historicals.

What did I read when researching Having Patience? LOL The Marquis de Sade (who, btw, has nothing on the modern erotica writer) Gamiani, which was written by George Sand (a woman who was Chopin's lover) and a few others by anonymous writers of the 18th and 19th centuries. I don't name any of the authors but toward the end, the heroine authors her own story!!

Where do I get ideas? From everything! From Dr. Phil to the Marquis de Sade. I try to come up with a believable plot in which to write light BDSM. My favorite writing is where I get to explore the heroine's sexual psyche.

Thanks again for the questions and comments!

Follow me on Facebook to keep up with my new releases and other info. I have several historicals coming out this summer and fall.
